Modern British cuisine experience

The atmosphere at "The Ivy Richmond Brasserie" is a successful blend of sophistication and coziness, characterized by opulent Art Deco design. The interior features marble floors, striking orange banquettes, and vibrant decorations with artworks and illustrations on the walls, giving the space a touch of extravagance. Particularly noteworthy is the large window front that allows plenty of natural light in, making the space bright and inviting. For private occasions, there is the Isabella Room, a separate area that can accommodate up to 20 guests at a long table or 40 standing guests. The venue is often busy, especially on weekends, and the staff is appreciated for their friendliness and professionalism, although there may occasionally be minor delays in service during peak times.

Culinarily, "The Ivy Richmond Brasserie" offers a modern interpretation of British cuisine, complemented by international influences and an impressive selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. A highlight is the "Shepherd’s Pie," a traditional dish made with seasoned lamb mince topped with creamy mashed potatoes, valued for its hearty flavor and comforting warmth. Also popular is the "Salmon and Smoked Haddock Fish Cake," served with a fresh pea and herb sauce and a soft poached egg—a perfect balance of lightness and flavor. The "Tempura Prawns" provide a crispy, Asian-inspired appetizer, served with a spicy sauce for an extra kick. The McQueens coffee, often served at breakfast, is praised for its quality and aromatic flavor.

Nice atmosphere but food was actually quite disappointing. Service was alright, some mistakes but they were nice. Maybe will come back for a drink but not food because the atmosphere was beautiful!

It's busy at the Ivy - we needed to book. If you follow the rule of "go where the locals go" then you'll go here. Good food and service. Well done Prujwal - you served us well.

We went to Ivy Richmond last Saturday with my daughter and really liked the environment. It was very busy and we appreciated being placed even without a reservation. However the food and the service were disappointing. Even though we mentioned that we don’t like fat in th meat, the waiters were so lack of time and attention that we ended up with slight meat but full fat in a fine dining small portion. I had to share my daughters burger :) and she could not find the usual burger taste either. It is sad that this design and environment that feels you great disappoints you in the phase of service and food turning fine dining into a fast food experience. The bill was relatively high when thinking of leaving the restaurant almost hungry. I probably would not go again. Thanks.

There is a major problem with the red wine here. 90% of all the reds, and all the nicer more expensive bottles, are stored in a cold cellar. The friendly, but bemused staff, admitted that if you want a correct temperature red, you need to choose from a choice of 6 (cheap) reds stored behind the bar. It’s a common problem. But it renders 90% of the reds undrinkable. Please store your reds at room temperature. Thanks.

Freddy our server was great. Despite the large area to cover, he gave good recommendations for food which we loved. The Shepard’s pie and ragu was great.

I give 1 star for dishonesty. This isn't New York. We don't tack on tips as 'service charges' as a way to supplement your waiters poor wages. I won't fight it, but you'll never get my money again. Learn the origin of the word gratuity. Also oven cooked chips. Such class.
